Adopt A Less Adoptable Pet Week #WhiskersWednesday

As a rescue pet adopted back in 2011 from Wood Green, The Animals Charity  I always do my best to advocate for animal adoption.

I was a cute 10-week-old kitten when I got adopted, by Mum Marie and it's a fact that kittens do get adopted quicker than older cats.

So as it's Adopt A Less Adoptable Pet Week Mum and I would like to help those that unfortunately have a hard time getting adopted. It's very sad that some animals just get left behind in shelters while others come and go.

If you live in the UK then CatChat.org, which is now celebrating 20 years of helping cats find their forever homes, is currently running the campaign "Twenty for 2020" to help the most overlooked cats get adopted.

Nico is such a handsome cat who is looking for a very special home.  Nico is FIV+ so is not able to live with or near other cats so he is looking for a rural home or a home with a cat-proofed garden, This 9-year-old lovely boy enjoys playing and can be so entertaining! Check out his profile here. He is at Godmanchester.

Meer

Diesel (photo: Wood Green The Animals Charity

9-year-old Diesel is feeling a little unsettled. This handsome boy is looking for a quiet, rural home where he can have free access to the outside world to explore. He would still love to come home to some fuss and attention when he is ready. Diesel tells me that a home with adults only would suit him well. He takes a while to settle because new surroundings scare him a little. Once he gains his owners trust Diesel will make a loyal companion. Interested in giving this beautiful boy a home? He is at the Wood Green Heydon centre waiting for you! Check out his profile for more info

#CharityTuesday Adopt, Adopt, Adopt!

ADOPT A CAT TODAY!

adopt a cat

These kitties at Wood Green, the Animals Charity are looking for their forever home. We want to help them find one as they truly  deserve love and care like the rest of us πŸ’—

MILLY
Photo: Wood Green
How beautiful is Milly! She has amazing eyes, doesn't she? Milly likes to take life at her own pace and enjoys lazing in bed and basking in the sunshine. But like most of us, she also likes to be made a fuss of and longs for a favourite human to give her love, affection and all the creature comforts she deserves. Visit her profile to find out more about her!

JAVA
Photo: Wood Green
I think my mum has just fallen in love because just look at those beautiful blue eyes! (she's a sucker for gorgeous blue eyes, though of course, she loves my beautiful green ones too).

Well, I think I've fallen in love too because Java is so handsome, isn't he?

Java tells me he would prefer a rural home or an enclosed garden due to being deaf. An older family would be a great match for him as he is full of affection and really loves to play. He doesn't cope well with being picked up or confined, so needs to be allowed to do things of his own accord. If you think you could have the right home for this handsome guy, check out his profile to find out more about him.

Urgent Appeal: Cassidy is Looking for a Forever Home #adoptdontshop #cats

Someone we know who volunteers at one of our local animal shelters contacted us about this lovely boy who urgently needs a home because his owners are moving. They say they can't take him with them due to their daughter having an allergy.

We are helping to find him a new family and forever home as soon as possible. Just look at his sweet, handsome face :)
Forever Home Wanted for Cassidy
Cassidy is urgently seeking a forever home!

"Hello my name is Cassidy, I am four years old and very friendly. At the moment I live in Edmonton, North London, but my humans' daughter has become allergic to me and I need a new home. I need to live somewhere where I have access to the outside, so nowhere on a busy road and with a secure rear garden. I am in very good health with all jabs up to date and have about six more weeks to live here before my humans move to their new home. Please is there somebody out there who would like to take me on? I promise you I am a good boy and don't scratch the furniture or carpets!"

If you are interested in giving Cassidy a forever home please contact Janice at Kings 020 8350 0100 or email Janice.Downes@kings_group.net

If you can't offer Cassidy a forever home please help by sharing this post!

Bobbit and Trixie are seeking a home together
Bobbit and Trixie (photo: Wood Green)
Aren't Bobbit and Trixie cute? These sweeties would like to be rehomed together. They are both a little bit wary at the moment but are lovely when they get to know you. Trixie is quite an independent girl and likes to spend more time outside enjoying a bit of hunting. Bobbit is more of a homebody but will still head out to the garden for some fresh air. They also both enjoy a fuss and an occasional belly rub too!

If you are interested in giving these two gorgeous girls a loving forever home check out their profile for more info.

Adopt a Cat: George and Milo #CharityTuesday

As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescue pets find their forever home, so each week on Charity Tuesday I will be sharing adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued). We are so grateful to this amazing charity because without them we would never have found each other! It's also one of the main charities we support.

MILO arrived at Wood Green through no fault of his own and was quite nervous. Since then he says he had grown in confidence and is now quite an affectionate cat! He would prefer to be an only cat so no other cats get to steal the fuss and attention he deserves. If you would like to know more about handsome Milo then click here  - but don't forget to watch his video below first!

Another handsome dude is GEORGE. He is quite a docile chap who says he prefers people to cats and is currently in his own ''cat penthouse'' at the Heydon centre! He just isn't happy around other cats, but he has a beautiful nature and loves to spend time with people he knows. Watch his video below, and if you are interested in him, please click here to find out more.

It's Our 5th Blogoversary! Let's Celebrate! #commentathon

fifth blogoversary

We've been blogging for five years now. Can you believe that?

And it's been quite an amazing, awe-inspiring journey. We've learned a lot in five years. Well, Mum has. I'm a cat so I'm wise already.

Mum says she's been tremendously inspired by all the fantastic pet bloggers who not only take the time to write such informative posts, but are also such nice people who really love their pets. We are both happy to have you all as blogging pals and furriends.

It's incredible really, this blogging world, isn't it? Pet bloggers really are the bestest bunch of people in the universe: friendly, welcoming, warmhearted, and let's not forget very creative. We have been inspired by each and every one of you.

To celebrate our 5 year blogoversary Mum is going to make a donation of £1 for every comment made in this post to Wood Green The Animals' Charity, the amazing charity who rescued me when I was a homeless kitten dumped on the streets. UPDATE: COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED

Before you make your comment though, have a read through my very first post. And if you have time, check out our other posts from our first month of blogging too. Mum's photography has improved a lot since then, but I always look good, no matter how good the photographer is :)

HERE IS OUR VERY FIRST POST

posted Wednesday, 26 October 2011

Hi, this is my first post. Mummy said I should have my own blog so here I am. My name, as you of course know, is Athena. It was my mummy's idea. She says it's because she has always loved that name and she wished she had been called that instead of Marie. She dreamed of giving it to her daughter one day, but as she hasn't got a human daughter, she gave me that name instead, I am of course her daughter too, just a feline one. I know she prefers cats to humans, anyway.

The idea of cat goddess is of course Mum's. She always calls me her little goddess, and let's face it, that's how she treats me, and I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's me with Mummy back in July when I was a baby. It was taken during my first week with her. Look how happy she is. I love her so much. She had been having a hard time lately, so I'm so glad I have made her smile properly. A real smile reaches the eyes, and as you can she, she is smiling with hers and not just with her lips.

Here are more of my fave pics for you. Enjoy!

Adopt a Cat #CharityTuesday

HAPPY CHARITY TUESDAY!

As a rescue kitty I want to help other rescue cats find their forever home, so we are continuing our new weekly feature for Charity Tuesday, sharing adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animal Charity (which is where I was rescued). We are so grateful to this amazing charity because without them we would never have found each other! It's also one of the main charities we support.

Jack is looking for his forever retirement home. Although he can be a little shy at first, once settled, he is an affectionate boy and a real lap-cat. Contact the Heydon centre if you are interested in adopting him.

Monty came in as a stray. He is a friendly boy and enjoys fuss and attention from his humans. He also loves a lap to sit on. Interested in adopting him? Find out more here

Miu is a bit on the large side and loves her food so she will need to lose a few pounds. She would prefer a nice quiet home and loves to snooze away the day on your lap. She is at the Heydon centre.
