Book Review

Thought I'd share this book review my mum just posted on her blog.

If you like Savannah cats and would like to know more then this review may be of interest to you.

My mum's review starts here:

If you are considering getting a Savannah cat then Savannah Cats and Kittens: Complete Owner's Guide to Savannah Cat & Kitten Care by Taylor David  is the only book you'll ever need.

It's rich with detailed information regarding this beautiful cat breed and more. In fact, everything you would ever need to know is within the pages of this book. From finding the right breeder to caring for your kitten and cat, and plenty more besides.

Because the Savannah Cat is a fairly new breed, it has only recently received recognition from The International Cat Association in 2012. It is a hybrid breed created from cross-breeding an African Serval Cat and a domestic cat. A lean, powerful and energetic cat, but certainly not dangerously wild as it is affectionate and craves to be around people, indeed forming a deep, intense bond with its human parent or guardian.

What I particularly liked about this book is the section containing Frequently Asked Questions and an Appendix section listing other relevant facts, such as a list of plants that are toxic to all cats, not just the Savannah. All this will be extremely helpful to any cat owner.

You will also find links to other websites should you seek more information, which no doubt saves you some time from searching for it yourself on the web.

And if you decide to become a breeder yourself, there is lots of info on this too, listing the pros and cons to consider.

All in all, I just loved this book, and if I ever decide to get a Savannah cat in future, I'll be glad to refer to it for guidance.

Caturday Art: My Mum With Her Dad

I never knew my mum's dad (my granddad) for he passed away a few months before I was born. But I thought that today's post should be in memory of him as three years ago his soul left his body.

Naturally, Mum is feeling very sad. Even though it's been three years, she says it still hurts. But ever since I came into her life I have made it easier for her.

We know he is on the other side with Suzy, my mum's other cat soulmate, and they watch over us whenever they can.

I really like what my mum has done with this old photo.

So, peace and love to Granddad (and Suzy). We love you loads!

Remember Me Thursday

I know I was so lucky getting rescued by my mum two years ago when I was a little ten-week-old kitten. But unfortunately some animals are not so lucky.

Did you know over 3.4 million orphan shelter pets lose their lives without finding their forever home each year? Let's honor the ones that lost their lives by shining a light on the orphans waiting for a home today.

Light a candle on Remember Me Thursday, September 26, 2013, at www.remembermethursday.org to spread awareness about the importance of pet adoption.

Be a #LightForPets!

Wordless Wednesday: Cat Writer

Here I am working on my book

And here it is already on Amazon

There are only a few more days left for you to purchase my animal rescue story at a special low price.
Mum and I will be donating all royalties to 3 of our chosen animal rescue charities.

But this offer only lasts until the end of September. In October, when the promo ends, Mum will raise the price and will then be back to donating a percentage of the proceeds. She would like to keep it a 100 % but unfortunately, she isn't a rich author and cannot afford to. She hopes she will be one day though, or at least have more money, but not because she likes fancy stuff. No, nothing shallow like that. She'd like to be rich (or at least better off) so she can help animals. She hopes to open her own no-kill cat shelter one day.

To everyone who has bought my book, thank you so much!

You can download the book or purchase a paperback copy HERE

Grumpy

Why am I looking quite grumpy in this pic? I look quite annoyed too, don't I?

Well, yesterday Mum took me to the vet for my annual booster vaccination.
If you remember, I was due to go last week but it was cancelled by the vet at the last minute.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get out of it :(

Throwback Thursday and Frozen In TIme: Free Promo

My mum is a writer as you know and though she writes about cats she has also written about other creatures with fangs called vampires. (She is quite obsessed with fangs and is always commenting on my ones).

Frozen In Time (Blood of the Gods, #1) by Marie Symeou

Now, the point of this post is to tell you about the special free Promo she has over on Amazon Kindle. It's to celebrate two years as a self-published author. Yes, time goes so quick, doesn't it? I remember Mum working hard at revising this book and preparing it for publication and me being a naughty little kitten needing attention all the time. But Mum was great and let me sit on her lap while she worked.

writer cat

If you fancy reading the first book in the Blood of the Gods Trilogy (by the way, there are some cats in this epic story, but they are not the main characters) you have a chance of downloading a copy for FREE beginning tomorrow Friday 6th September until next Tuesday 10th September.

If you love vampire fiction and historical fantasy this is the book for you. It's not the usual vampire novel that's popular these days. It's a fresh take on the genre. It's set in Ancient Greece at the time of Alexander the Great. It's an epic adventure about an ancient Greek tutor and philosopher who loses his wife in childbirth and is so traumatised by this that he only wishes for death and so becomes a soldier in Alexander's army (it turns out that Alexander is his half-brother). He then meets an evil blood-sucking sea monster named Scylla who is disguised as his dead wife who seduces him and turns him into a vampire....

I can't give away any more as that would be spoiling it.

So, if you think this book might be your cup of tea, then please download it and help my mum fulfill her dream of being a successful author. She is the mother of a goddess after all and has spent years researching for this trilogy (and writing it). On top of that, it's a bit frustrating being the daughter of a struggling artist!

Once you've read it and liked it Mum would appreciate if you could leave a review on Amazon because at the moment she hasn't that many :( :( :(

CLICK ON THE LINKS BELOW FOR YOUR FREE DOWNLOAD

OFFER ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH AMAZON
(You don't need a Kindle device to download it as there are now FREE Kindle Apps available)

Wordless Wednesday: Almost

Hiding under the table

If you saw yesterday's post then you would have seen the video of me in a state of panic as I inspected my carrier.

I knew something was up.

And it was.

This morning I figured it out and Mum was taking me to the vet for my annual booster.

But it didn't happen. And all is safe for now.

You see Mum was getting ready and I was hiding under the table, my nerves already in a right state. And just as she was coming down the stairs the phone rang and she answered.

And it was the vet saying our appointment had to be cancelled.

Mmm... Well, at least I got away with it today.

But I know that I'll have to go soon :(

(Sorry if the picture and video aren't very clear. It was quite dark under the table!)

Tuesday 3 September 2013

Something's up. I just know it!

Something major sinister is going on, I just know it.

Like, what's my carrier doing downstairs all of a sudden?

All sorts of questions are racing through my head right now and they are sending me into a panic.

Is Mum going away again and leaving me in that horrible place where I got so depressed that I couldn't eat?

NO! Please no!

Or is she taking me to the vet? (Is it that time of the year already?)

What could it be?

I shall have to try and read her thoughts.

Easy Like Sunday

My mum's hair towel smells of coconut and I love to roll about on it.

But it also makes me feel chilled out and I am hoping to get my Easy on.

So go on, Mum. Go and do something else and let me take my nap now.

Before I go, I'd like to wish my Uncle John in Sweden (who kindly lets my mum use his music compositions on our videos) a Happy Birthday!
