Happy Gotcha Day Sunday Selfie!

If you saw my post yesterday, you will know that today is my 8th Gotcha Day. To celebrate, Mum has been trying to take some selfies of us together but she has failed miserably as you can see. 

I wasn't in the mood for selfies because my mind was elsewhere. Being out in the catio does that! 😻🐦

So instead, here are a couple of selfie fails for you to laugh at 😹😀

Why would you want to see Mum's face when you have me to look at?

Almost there but I look so small that I look as if I'm almost sitting on Mum's shoulder.

Look at my face! I was miserable because I wanted to be let out into the catio 

This one is purrfect. It was taken a few weeks back and we've posted it before. We gave it a new frame to make it extra special for today.

Hot Tea Month #caturdayart

Happy Caturday! 

Mum tells me it's Hot Tea Month, which doesn't mean much to us cats, I know.  So Mum, who loves tea, has offered to share a snap of her drinking tea with myself in the background trying to nap. Humans love their tea, don't they? And the British like Mum even so. But Mum is trying to cut down on caffeine and only has one cup or mug a day of normal tea (always English Breakfast Tea for Mum). The rest of the day she drinks herbal (different varieties so it doesn't get boring, and a couple to soothe her nerves and help her sleep). I keep telling her to drink more water but will she listen? I love my water and I love my mug, as you can see in my photo below this one of Mum.

1. A glass of wine will never make me merry. It just makes me want more and more until I get even more miserable than I was before I drank it.

2. The best time of the day is nighttime when I can snuggle up with Athena in bed.

3. Patience is not my strong suit. But that's because I'm getting old and still haven't had a normal life. So many things I want to achieve but I know time is running out.

4. It’s all fun and games until you grow up!

Wordy Wednesday: #ReadaBookDay

Yes, it's a wordy Wednesday today, instead of a wordless one because we are celebrating Read a Book Day.

As you know, Mum is a writer and has written 3 cat-related books. She says she will write more when she has the time and is stress-free. Hopefully, the move to a quieter, greener area will help. 

A new memoir is also on the cards. She has just started writing it though so it may be a while before anyone will get to see it in print.

Mum also loves to read. She is a voracious reader. It keeps negative thoughts at bay, she tells me. Reading is great. Of course, kitties can't read (apart from minds), but we love being read to. So go ahead and read to your fur babies today (dogs too!).

What about your humans? Do they love to read? And what kind of books do they like? Do they read to you, dear furriends?

Read them if you haven't already. They are great reads. Please leave a review too as they are so very important for self-published authors. Maybe it'll get Mum out of her glum mood to see that people appreciate her work more.

Black and White Sunday Selfies

HAPPY SUNDAY! 

Time for some selfies of me and Mum. As you can see, at first I wasn't in the mood. I just wasn't too pleased that Mum had the audacity to interrupt my nap time just to take a selfie.

But then I felt the love and gave in just for a few snaps. When Mum said it's for the blog, I couldn't resist. After all, how could I disappoint my fans?

Wordy Whiskers Wednesday

A bit of a wordy Wednesday today. I know we are posting rather a lot of videos lately, but I'm afraid Mum's become quite obsessed. She's like that you know. She can go through months dry of any inspiration and then suddenly BOOM! A wave of creativity hits and she cannot stop. It doesn't last long though. She will eventually wind down, I promise you, and then she'll just want to retreat into her cave (our bedroom), dive under the duvet and will probably not have another urge to create for months.

I do however continue to be a great source of inspiration and comfort for her. Apart from being a very photogenic cat and advising her on what to blog about, I am also there to provide the soothing purrs and huge love and affection I know she needs to feel better. I encourage her to take naps in the afternoon with me when things become overwhelming for her. And of course I provide endless laughter with my crazy antics and the funny faces I like to pull occasionally. I love hearing her laugh!

So I think I should let her off for sharing this embarrassing video of me rolling around ecstatically on her bath towel (it smells of mummy and that's great, but it also has the scent of lavender oil from her bath).

Lavender might not be for everyone (many associate it with Granny smells and Mum isn't old enough). Well, she is actually, but don't tell her that. Lavender is very good for depression and aids restful sleep, which is why she likes to add a few drops to her bath. The towel seems to have absorbed it though, hence my delight.

Anyway, let's end this rather wordy Wednesday post with the video, shall we? Hope it makes your humans smile too. I give you the permission to laugh at me, a goddess. It's OK. I am happy to provide fun entertainment for my friends, readers and fans.

Not quite wordless, just sharing some recent photos of my mum and me.

For those that don't know, my mum is a writer and has her own cat blog . It's a blog about cats mainly but also the welfare of all animals as well as sharing her pet photography (well, photos of me mainly). She's all new to photography so she uses me to practice on and she says I am the purrfect model. I have to agree!

She writes articles about cats and animal welfare too.

Easy Like Sunday

Getting ready for my easy. This is my bed and as you can see it rests on top of my mum's bed.  I sleep here most afternoons when she's working at her computer. She doesn't have a proper office so has her desk in the bedroom. I like her to stay here all day with me. I hate it when she goes downstairs and leaves me. 

Oh there she goes again. Downstairs to make another cup of tea!
