Wordy Wednesday: #ReadaBookDay

Read a Book Day

Yes, it's a wordy Wednesday today, instead of a wordless one because we are celebrating Read a Book Day.

As you know, Mum is a writer and has written 3 cat-related books. She says she will write more when she has the time and is stress-free. Hopefully, the move to a quieter, greener area will help.

A new memoir is also on the cards. She has just started writing it though so it may be a while before anyone will get to see it in print.

Mum also loves to read. She is a voracious reader. It keeps negative thoughts at bay, she tells me. Reading is great. Of course, kitties can't read (apart from minds), but we love being read to. So go ahead and read to your fur babies today (dogs too!).

What about your humans? Do they love to read? And what kind of books do they like? Do they read to you, dear furriends?

Mum's cat books are available on Amazon.

Read them if you haven't already. They are great reads. Please leave a review too as they are so very important for self-published authors. Maybe it'll get Mum out of her glum mood to see that people appreciate her work more.

Now that I've discovered audio books, I listen to books in the car, and read books when home. Especially on the weekends, I love to sit outside near The 'O' Cats and read in the afternoon light.

That's exciting that your momma is working on a memoir, Athena! My mom started writing her memoirs several years ago and a children's book, but never finished them. MOL! She read a couple chapters of Harry Potter yesterday to the neighbor's kitty while sitting for them. I hope she reads a few to me, too. Mew Mew!

I love to read and write. I am hoping to do more of both after things settle down in my world.

We love reading in our house. Where we used to live, my human mommy helped elementary school children improve their reading skills. She used to tell them, "Books can take you anywhere in the world and beyond!" Happy Wordy Wednesday! ;-)

I love your mum's books. I like to read a lot too, usually memoirs and self-help and anything with a cat in it.

I've never listened to audio books. I suppose they are a great idea for busy people.

That's great. Enjoy your Warriors books :)

I'm trying to get back into writing books again. I worked so hard on the previous books - not just writing them but editing and publishing them - that I needed a break. I just didn't feel inspired and I love blogging so I thought I'd leave it for a while. Hopefully, I'll have something else out soon.

It's hard but sometimes it's nice to take a break for a while.

Reading is great for banishing negative thoughts (in my case).

Marie Symeou said...

Definitely agree with that. It's amazing what books can do!

Thank you! I love reading self help and memoirs too - and of course anything cat-related!
