Omzak the Space Cat Warrior 

Omzak the Space Cat Warrior is an inspiring children's tale about an extraordinary intergalactic cat and the exciting adventures that he has with the variety of characters he meets on his travels. 

A story that conveys "positive messages to children everywhere",  it is surely a must-read for many - including adults!

Now, we haven't read the book yet, though we'd love to read it soon, but Omzak has a Facebook page and we've gone over and clicked 'like' so we can get to know him better and follow his adventures.

Who is Omzak?
Omzak is a Catopian, and Catopians count their years like humans do, so in December 2012 he turned 15. He sounds like a fun cat because he has a rebellious nature and was even expelled from nursery school because of it.

He is a big dreamer, and always dreamed of becoming a famous warrior. Now, from what I've heard he is also extremely talented - multi-talented in fact. An accomplished pianist, and majored in astro physics, history and every other subject on the curriculum. Mmmm... getting slightly envious here and I bet most of you other cats are too. And there's more: Bational Champion of martial arts, stick fighting and athletics!

But he went and got very arrogant, didn't he? And so, as you would expect, he had to learn his lesson and was sent to Earth to do just that. Guess where he ended up? Yeah, England!

Ever since I can remember, I've always loved hopping onto my mum's back for a quick ride. I like to do it when she's not expecting it!

Prancer Pie

Yesterday, my mum looked very sad and told me she'd just seen on the Catblogosphere that dear Prancer Pie has passed over to the Rainbow Bridge.

I now feel sad too. But I'm sure he is at peace now and enjoying meeting up with all the other kitty souls over there.

So I am sending lots of purrs and love to his family. I didn't know him long but he always left some sweet comments on my blog and I enjoyed reading and commenting on his posts.

Mummy and I will both miss him.

Here is a video of my tiny self attacking the TV screen. It's a bit noisy due to my mum's editing but she hopes to add some music to it to make it more watchable.

Answer Your Cat's Question Day

So apparently it's Answer Your Cat's Question Day and my mum didn't tell me about it (actually, she didn't know about it, either).

Now, if I can catch her attention, we will begin the interview.

Come on, Mum, stop staring at your laptop and listen to me.

Athena: Mum, I've got some questions for you.
Marie: Ok, Athena. I'm listening. Ask away.

Athena: Why do you keep staring at the laptop all day, anyway?
Marie: You know why, sweetie. I have to work so I can give you a good life.

Athena: I already have a good life.
Marie: I want to make it even better. Besides, what else can I do when you're asleep? I get bored easily.

Athena: Sleep more. It works for me.
Marie: Yes, I wish I could!

Athena: What is so interesting on that box in the corner of the room with the little people moving about in it that you  like to watch at night?
Marie: It's a television, Athena. I watch because I'm bored and am usually too tired to do anything else by then.

Athena: Why do you watch other kitties on-line and on Animal Planet? Am I not enough for you?
Marie: Oh, Athena, baby, you know you are my world and I love you very much. But I enjoy looking at other kitties and learning about them. I do it so I can understand the cat world better. I find it so interesting and that's one thing I don't watch because I'm bored!

Athena: Why can't you play with me all day?
Marie: Because I'm getting older and tire easily, sweetie. Anyway, I play with you a lot, it's just that you seem to prefer sleeping most of the day!

Athena: Why do you drink such smelly drinks like coffee and wine?
Marie: Because I like them. One wakes me up and keeps me going, and the other helps me unwind after a stressful day. I know I should drink more water like you, but I can't.

Athena: Why do you nod your head in time to the music in your iPod when you're writing? When I sit on our bed and watch you from behind you look so funny headbanging that I want to jump on your head.
Marie: I listen to music through headphones so as not to disturb you, Athena. Just don't jump on my head, OK? Your poor old mum might have a heart attack, and who else will look after you so well? Now, get back to sleep! You are due another nap now, aren't you?

Athena: Mum, I just wanna say that I knew you were my mum as soon as you walked through the door of the cat shelter and I love you so much. You are the best mum in the whole world!
Marie: I love you too, my sweet pretty girl. I knew you would be my baby as soon as I touched your paw and looked into your beautiful eyes. Love ya, xxxx

Throwback Thursday: 21st July 2011

Athena here taking you all back to the 21st July 2011, which was my GOTCHA DAY

Mum found this video on her computer and just wanted to share. It makes her smile so much. This is what I did as soon as we got home, (after she fed me a bit as I was starving). She thinks it's amazing that I settled onto her lap right away as most kittens (or cats) going to a new home usually run and hide under the bed or dart into some dark corner somewhere.

Sorry for the noise interference at the end, though.

Let me just say that I don't think that there is anything wrong with having a musical about Cats , and neither Mum or I have yet to see it so can't comment, but this looks quite funny, don't you think?

Easy Like Sunday

Trying to get some kip (British English for sleep or nap) on my favourite chair. I love the comfy cushion my Granny made for me!

I am a bit sad that no one participated in my Caturday Art Blog Hop yesterday, but maybe it was all a bit short notice for some of you. It's the first time my mum and I hosted a blog hop and so we were quite nervous about it.

Next week we'll give you more time to enter :)

This is Athena's mum here wanting to tell you about our Caturday Art Blog Hop.

I've been thinking about doing a blog hop for a while now and since I've never hosted one before I am a little nervous and confused. That's why I ask you to please bear with me if I get it wrong!

If you've been following our Caturday Art posts then you must have noticed that I absolutely love photography and enjoy playing around with all the free online photo editors available to create artistic photos of Athena. I love art too, but I was never any good at drawing or painting. However, I am a creative soul so photography art is a great outlet for me.

I've always been into photography but it's only recently (since I started this blog) that I have discovered a passion for it. And as Athena is my muse and makes a wonderful model, I really love taking photos of her (not all the time, obviously). Our photo sessions are very short and only occur once or twice a week. If she happens to be doing something unbelievably cute and I just have to capture it, well then I quickly take a snap. I also avoid using the flash as much as possible. I have sensitive eyes myself and really hate camera flashes, so I can only imagine what it must feel like for a cat.

So, for Caturday Art Blog Hop I would like all who wish to participate to just go ahead and have fun making your pet photos more artsy. I figured it would be an enjoyable and creative way for all of you to join in and see what we can all come up with.

What I Wish for in 2014

What I Wish for the New Year!

• For all the animals stuck in animal shelters to be as lucky as me and find loving, forever homes.
• For all animal shelters to become NO KILL shelters
• For humans to ADOPT DON'T SHOP
• For my book A Forever Home For Athena to sell lots and lots of copies so I can raise more money for animals in need.
• For my mum to be happy and not stress so much.
• For lots more cuddles from my mum (though I think any more cuddles and she will end up suffocating me!)
• For more treats (though I do have to watch my weight this year)
• For my mum to take more notice of me when I sit in front of the TV. I'm sick of her staring at that screen in the evenings!
• For my mum to sing more softer songs and not play that metal music so loud.
• For humans to care more about this beautiful world we all have to inhabit 
• For world peace.
• And finally, for love, health and happiness to you all!
