If she had the time, Mum says she would have gone back and erased the offending chair.

Hope you had a fun time welcoming in the New Year, no matter what you were doing. I was lucky as Mum was with me and so was Granny and we spent it doing what we do every night, except this time Gran stayed up longer and drank her favourite alcoholic drink, Baileys.

Mum had some white wine, as she always does. I slept through most of it, until the silly fireworks woke me up. They were extremely loud but I wasn't really scared. In fact, I wanted to see so I jumped up to my cat tree and told Mum to draw back the curtain for me so I could have a peep outside through the patio door. I turned around and looked at Mum and said, "Is this what all the fuss is about? What's the point of all that noise? Sounds like what a war might sound like." 

Why do humans have to do everything loud?

Sunday Selfie

Happy Sunday! 

I look like I'm laughing in this selfie, but in actual fact I was yawning. Mum helped me make it black and white because she thought it would look nicer as there were too many colours going on in the flowery cushion Granny made for me to sleep on. The chair is all mine and Granny and Mum call it my throne. And they are right! As this selfie is in black and white I am also joining Sugar and Nola for the Black and White Sunday Hop.

This is our New Year card. We are hoping for lots of purrs, peace and love in the world and for all the innocent animals and decent humans. It is about time we took care of our beautiful garden (the world) and each other. We are here to share this planet, it does not just belong to one species (the humans who think themselves so superior to other earthlings.)

What I Wish for in 2014

What I Wish for the New Year!

• For all the animals stuck in animal shelters to be as lucky as me and find loving, forever homes.
• For all animal shelters to become NO KILL shelters
• For humans to ADOPT DON'T SHOP
• For my book A Forever Home For Athena to sell lots and lots of copies so I can raise more money for animals in need.
• For my mum to be happy and not stress so much.
• For lots more cuddles from my mum (though I think any more cuddles and she will end up suffocating me!)
• For more treats (though I do have to watch my weight this year)
• For my mum to take more notice of me when I sit in front of the TV. I'm sick of her staring at that screen in the evenings!
• For my mum to sing more softer songs and not play that metal music so loud.
• For humans to care more about this beautiful world we all have to inhabit 
• For world peace.
• And finally, for love, health and happiness to you all!

I chose this video for all my blog friends, but also to cheer up my mum.

She always gets sad around this time of the year because she feels the years are just flying by so fast and she's not getting any younger. She worries about the future a lot and about her unfulfilled dreams.

Guess what I tell her? Don't waste precious moments by thinking about tomorrow. Be like a cat. Live in the moment!

Problem with my dear mum is that she has the tendency to over-think things and then gets in a panic about everything. I suppose many humans are like that, aren't they?
