Sleepy Sunday Selfie

Thank you for all the purrs, prayers and virtual hugs for Mum's sick family member.

Last weekend, Mum's brother got rushed to hospital with symptoms that were similar to Covid.  But he tested negative. Instead, they found bacteria in his blood. The doctors suspect an infected tooth caused it so he has to stay in hospital for a while whilst receiving antibiotic treatment. It can be really dangerous if the bacteria gets into the bloodstream, especially if you have heart problems which Mum's brother does. If left untreated it can get to the heart and cause damage to the heart valves.

As you can imagine, it's been a stressful time for my family. Mum tries to hide her panic and anxiety from me but I can tell she is extremely worried and so is my granny who is quite elderly.

I'm sending purrs to my uncle for a quick recovery xx

Sleeping on the bed and with one eye open and staring at Mum snapping me with her iPhone.

I love curling up on Mum's lap in the mornings while she is drinking coffee and watching Netflix. Sometimes we sit in silence and chill, sometimes she tries to relax while giving me Reiki - which I love I think in this pic we are healing each other 💚 💜

1. I have been contemplating how much more I could do to help animals. There is so much that needs to be done and all animals matter. Not just our pets.

3. People should worry less about how they look and more about how to make this world a better place and a lot of them need to get themselves some compassion!

4. I want to make the world a better place by raising awareness for all animals and being their voice. Animals are sentient beings and their rights should matter. They are not here to serve humans and are not a commodity. They deserve love and respect.

Look at me! I am so contented as I sleep on Mum's bed in our new bedroom. I love our new room because in the morning sun puddles splash through the window and land on the bed.

Sunday Selfie: Happy Cat Month😺

Happy Sunday!

We've just heard that September is Happy Cat Month so here is my very happy and contented selfie. When I expose my belly like this Mum knows it's an invitation for her to start giving me some tummy rubbing. And let me tell you I just love it!

I even let her kiss my tummy 😼

Of course, not every cat will enjoy exposing their tummy in this way. Especially at the beginning of a relationship. It's based on trust. For me, it was easy as I knew my mum was meant to be my mum from the very first day she walked into the cat shelter where I was waiting for my forever home. I trusted her completely from the very start. And on the first day when she adopted me and brought me home, I fell asleep contented on her lap (after I filled my hungry belly with yummy food!). 

Mum was a bit nervous trying to give me the belly rub at first because she knows some cats don't like it. But soon enough, she realised I wanted the rubs and the kisses too!

Before I go, do you remember Mr Catnip Mousie?

Well, I hadn't been playing with him for a while but Mum recently found him and started throwing him across the room one night when I was having my mad half hour before bedtime. I realised that I'd really missed the old man and so I grabbed him by my teeth and flung and bashed him around the room for a while and then I paw-batted him for a bit.
