Purrs and Prayers Needed #CaturdayArt

I haven't been well this past week and I am hoping you can all send me purrs, prayers and healing vibes.

I went to the vet on Monday and Friday because all week I was fluctuating between feeling OK one minute and being ill the next.

To cut a long story short before Mum loses her mind I have a urinary tract infection and I had some tests and may need more next week. You see the vet says I may have crystals or stones in my bladder and the tests will determine how they will be treated. I may need an operation.

Mum is sick with worry but trying hard to be strong while taking care of me. Please pray and purr for me, dear furriends.

Here is a quick arty photo of me.

Wordless Whiskers Wednesday and the Noisy World

black and white photo of tabby cat

Sending healing purrs and peaceful thoughts to the world right now 💚

Here's a short little video from my YouTube channel that will help soothe anyone who needs it.

I always instruct Mum to give me some healing to relax me before a nap, but it also helps to calm her too.

I have her well trained!

Relaxing Feline Friday

These are stressful times for everyone, so let's make this a relaxing Friday. First, here's me chilling out on Mum's bed. Actually, it's OUR bed since we both sleep on it. Mum says I spend more time on it than she does, so I guess it's really MY bed.

tabby cat on bed

Next, here's a video clip of me receiving Reiki from Mum the other day.

She's noticed I'm a little stressed so I told her with my thoughts to give me some Reiki healing.
Just very short sessions because it gets a bit overwhelming.

This seems to relax her too and then we can both enjoy our afternoon nap.

MARIE
1. I can’t wait for the vet's to reopen (fully) after the quarantine. Athena was due her booster last month but In line with government guidelines, they are only offering medically essential appointments.
2. I am in no hurry for shops to reopen after the quarantine. I mean other shops besides groceries and essentials. I hate shopping and this throw-away society. If people don't learn from the current crisis, then we are all lost.
3. These days, anxiety is my default mood. But I'm also very angry.
4. Have I ever told you that I wish I'd trained as a classical singer? My teenage self would never think about such a thing. She wanted to be a pop singer. Back in the 80s, pop music was great! But by the end of the decade, I was well into rock and metal, and I formed a rock band with my brother. I still love my 80s music, though :)

ATHENA
1. I can’t wait for Mum to look less stressed after the quarantine.
2. I am in no hurry for Mum to start going out after the quarantine. She doesn't go out much because of her social anxiety, but I hate it when she pops out to the shops with Granny leaving me all alone.
3. These days, laziness is my default mood.
4. Have I ever told you that I don't much care for the heavy metal music Mum listens to sometimes? I do however like some of the pop and classical music she plays. It's so relaxing.

Sending Healing Purrs to the World #wednesdaywisdom

We hope our post finds you well.

I am sending healing purrs to the world because we need to help raise the vibration. The world is changing in a horrifying way right now and so us kitties have to purr all over the Earth to send love and healing energy to everyone who needs it right now.

Mum is a Reiki healer and is sending healing thoughts and light. Yes, she's panicking and her anxiety level is through the roof, but she also has moments of calm (she's not anxious all day, for example). When she has those moments she sends healing green light to the world.

Maybe you can all do it too?

Cat friends, you already know that you have the power to heal in your purr energy.

Let's send healing now.

Love, light and purrs xx

💚

Healing Purrs Can Heal the Pain #wednesdaywisdom

healing purrs

Here I am trying to make my mum smile after she heard about George Michael's passing on Christmas Day. Actually, it was night here in England when the news broke, just as we were going to bed. She had been feeling pretty uneasy all day, too many thoughts playing on her mind. That's my mum, she thinks too much! But who knows? Maybe she sensed the bad news that was coming later?

She had checked Twitter just before going upstairs to bed. She had been concerned about another legend from her youth, Carrie Fisher, who had suffered a heart attack and had been in intensive care for a few days.

But instead the first tweet Mum saw was a tweet stating that George Michael had passed away in his sleep earlier that day. Deeply shocked and saddened, understandably, Mum couldn't sleep. I didn't want her to drink more than she had already done that day, which was only a couple of glasses of wine (Mum really doesn't drink much booze because she once had a problem with it.) In the pic above I am being extra cute and lovable because I could clearly see she wasn't calm enough to sleep.

George Michael

Mum was 16 when she first became a fan of George and Wham, so he had been a part of her life for many years - inspiring her to sing and to write songs. She went to many of his gigs. It was her life back then - music, music, music! Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Paul Young, who with George Michael, were her fave artists back then. Until she discovered rock and metal that is... But that's another story. But Mum is a true music fan and is no music snob so she is proud of her eclectic taste and the wonderful music that had helped her escape during the difficult times growing up.

George was a sensitive, caring soul and so talented as a singer-songwriter.  He was also extremely generous and donated so much of his fortune to charity. And he was an animal lover too. His last public act was to offer his support to the Blue Cross campaign regarding puppy farms.
We listened to Mum's favourite George Michael CD yesterday - Listen Without Prejudice. The following two songs were hauntingly beautiful.

Carrie Fisher

So yesterday Mum was shocked to hear about the passing of another of her childhood icons - the lovely Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia in Star Wars. Carrie wasn't just Leia, but also a talented writer. And a very funny lady with a dog that apparently doesn't like cats. Never mind, I can forgive him for that. Mum and I feel devastated for him, little Gary who has lost his Mum 💜

Mum tells me that a long time ago (not in a galaxy far away), when she was 11 or 12, she was a big Star Wars fan. She used to dress up as Princess Leia and act out scenes from the film. Unfortunately, we have no photographic evidence to share.

Mum says she was bullied at school for liking this brilliant film. Not by boys, but girls. Ha! Let me scratch their eyes out now!

How dare you laugh at my mum for having such a vivid imagination and daring to be different. Mum has never been a sheep... Where are you sheep now, I wonder?

But Mum does have fond memories of her childhood whenever she thinks of Star Wars and it will always remain one of her favourite films of all time.

Such a sad loss of two beautiful souls.

Rest in Peace

💖

Caturday Art

Before I show you the art for this week's Caturday Art Blog Hop I'd like to thank you all for your comments on our last post. I am feeling better now, but Mum has been trying to make me eat wet food and I haven't eaten that since I was a kitten. I just won't touch it!

She has been trying to switch my food for ages. She tells me she is doing it for my own good because dry food isn't healthy to eat all the time. She thinks that's why I had the urinary problem the other day.

What do you furry friends eat? Do you prefer dry to wet? Does your human make you eat things you don't like?

We didn't have time to do much 'art' with this photo. It is quite simple. Mum just created it using her old favourite Pixlr

In this photo I was napping on Mum's lap yesterday morning while she was giving me Reiki. She added the green light because this is a healing colour and it's the one she pictures in her mind flowing from her hands as she does the healing.

Wordless Wednesday

Mum is sad today because she is thinking about her dad, who passed away exactly five years ago. I never knew him in this life as I was yet to be born but he sounds like a cool guy.

Mum says he was quite an animal lover. Well, he really loved horses and he was always very kind and loving towards Mum's other cats.

Mum believes that he sent me to her because she was very sad and depressed after he passed away.

So today I am going to be extra busy giving Mum extra loving cuddles and purrs to soothe her hurting soul.

Here I am on her lap purring my magic healing on her...

Melt Your Heart Monday

Mum  wanted to post this video because she is addicted to purrs.I don't know why she needs to listen to other cats' purrs because I thought I was her purring machine!

Anyway, this really long video is the purrfect way to unwind after a long stressful human day. I really do feel sorry for you humans, with all that running around trying to live. I am so glad I'm a cat!

10 Ways a Cat and Her Human Mum Show Their Love For One Another

We know everyone is feeling the love this Valentine Week, but it's important to note (as we know many of you animal lovers do), that Valentine's Day is not only about romantic love. Why should it be? As a wise kitty goddess I am here to tell you that love, and certainly 'purrfect' love can be found with your adorable and adoring pets. So let us celebrate this beautiful love!

As you can see, Mum and I are totally in love with each other. Here are some of the ways we show our love for one another.

1 Cuddles
We love to cuddle. Mum is always cuddling me. And because I love her I let her hug me tight. If I'm not in the mood I soon let her know though! Cuddles and Snuggles under the duvet on a cold day (and night) are just the best.

2 Purrs I purr all the time to show Mum how much she means to me and how happy she makes me. I also purr to calm her when she's stressed. This calms me too.
3 Eye gaze/slow blink We gaze at each other. A lot. And then I slow blink at her. Mum has learned to do this too back to me.
A photo posted by Athena (@athenawisekitty) on
4 We listen to each other I let Mum talk to me when she needs to. Sometimes she needs to complain and she has a lot on her mind. She feels misunderstood a lot of the time by humans so she finds me far more understanding.
A photo posted by Athena (@athenawisekitty) on
5 Take care of each other We always look out for each other and there is never a moment when we are not thinking of each other.

6 Play together We have lots of fun playing games, as you can see from this video below, and this one
A video posted by Athena (@athenawisekitty) on
7 Sleep together We share a big bed and I love to snuggle up against her at night, especially when it's very cold. Sometimes I crawl under the duvet for a nice cuddle.
8 Heal each other My purrs heal my mum, but she also gives me Reiki healing which is great for me too.
A photo posted by Athena (@athenawisekitty) on
9 Take lots of selfies together
A photo posted by Athena (@athenawisekitty) on
10 I like to lick my mum's hand and arm, as you can see from this video.

Caturday Art

Welcome to the first Caturday Art of 2015!

Today, I am sending out special healing energy, direct from my healing paws, to all who need it, and of course some extra healing purrs as well!

You see, I am aware that some of my furry friends in the pet blogosphere are currently in need of some extra healing. There is sweet Joe from Marg's Animals, who I don't know that well but I heard about his accident through our friends at Alassandra, The Cats & Dogs, and of course there is dear Cody, who hasn't been feeling very well. So here I am sending out my healing purrs and energy to you guys. Mum has sent some too (well, she doesn't purr but she is trained in Reiki so she channels energy healing through her hands with loving light and thoughts). Some of you may already know that she has a special Facebook group where she sends free distant healing to pets in need. (If you want to request a healing just visit the link for details).

But you know what? We can all heal our friends, family, animals and even the world. The power is within us all. It's called love. The healing energy of love and positive thought can do amazing things.

So reach out with your hearts today and send loving thoughts out to those you love. To those that need it. To the whole world!

Love and Peace for 2015 and always!
