Bengal Cat Needs Forever Home #adoptacat

Athena says Adopt Don't Shop!

This beautiful bengal boy is Cassius. Isn't he gorgeous?

Adopt Don't Shop Charity Tuesday Forever Home Wanted for Cat
PHOTO: Wood Green

Cassius is being cared for by my favourite animal shelter Wood Green, The Animals Charity. If you don't know my rescue story it's the charity that rescued me from someone's garden in North London where I was found abandoned as a kitten.

Mum saw my photo on the charity's website and went to the London branch to adopt me.

And the rest is history!

Cassius is " looking for a new home, where he can enjoy being the only cat in the area- he just wants all of the attention for himself! Cassius is very sweet and friendly and enjoys jumping up onto your lap for a cuddle. When he's not showering you with love, Cassius loves to explore outside. He would definitely prefer to live in a more rural area with a low cat population. If you could offer Cassius his forever home, please click here to find out more."

Cat From Cyprus Needs Forever Home

CITY is a beautiful long-haired black cat. "She is a little shy until she gets to trust you but then loves a lot of fuss! She doesn’t like being picked up but will come to you for cuddles and eventually your lap!" Find out more about her and how to adopt a cat from Cyprus here

Sadly some shelter animals never make it. It's heartbreaking to know that this goes on but we hope we can save a life by sharing...

The Reality of Many Shelter Animals

"URGENT" NYC Shelter Animals

“Urgent” was created to help advocate for NYC’s Death Row Dogs and Cats. What started as a desperate attempt to save some dogs turned into an enormous community of caring people, just as outraged as we are. Together, we are fighting to reform the NYC shelter system and save the thousands of adoptable animals being needlessly destroyed each year. The battle is long and the list of casualties continues to climb but we will not give up… not until there are none.

You may be able to save a life!

Overlooked cats in Britain

Sadly, there are so many overlooked cats urgently needing forever homes everywhere. Here is a list of UK rescue shelters and charities from the cat rescue resource CatChat.org, with details of harder to home senior cats, black cats, special needs cats, FIV+ cats and feral/farm cats.

More homeless pets looking for forever homes can be found on my Mum's Pinterest Pet Rescue board.
Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescues find their forever home, so each week on Charity Tuesday I share adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued) and some other charities dear to our hearts. Mum and I are so grateful to Wood Green because without them we would never have found each other! Please note: We are here to help cats and give our time freely. We also ensure that to the best of our knowledge and research other lesser-known charities mentioned are legit.

People are shocked to find these more exotic breeds in shelters - and it always makes me sad. I've heard from several rescue people that the adopters don't take the special needs of their chosen breed into account - and dump them off when things don't go as the adopters plan.
