September Heatwave #SundaySelfie

It's September and here in England we're in the middle of a heatwave. Yuck! What is it with this weather? OK, August was quite cold for a summer month but we're in autumn now. And houses here get too heated, and when it's muggy with no wind blowing, it's too sticky for Mum and she complains. 

What about me with my furs? I can't complain as I love it when Mum gets a wet cloth and rubs me down to help me cool off. 

Anyway, when it's like this the best thing to do is sleep it off. With the fan on, of course!

2. My plans for September include trimming some hedges and mowing lawn, which I hate doing. I hope it cools down because there's no way I'm doing any of that in this heatwave!

3. The Internet has made my life easier mostly because I'm an introvert. I like not having to go to the shops because I get anxious in crowds. I do all my shopping online. 

4. Living with humans really complicates things.

2. My plans for September include purring and kissing Mum to relax her as she thinks of the first anniversary of her brother's funeral. It was 19th September, same day as the Queen's. 

3. My mum has made my life easier. 

4. Not being able to catch those birdies in our garden really complicates things.

1. I am looking forward to the new season of Outlander this month.
2. I am in need of a break. 
3. Music is my go-to when I need to vent my pain and anger, or when I feel totally alone and sad. For the last two years, ever since everything has gone downhill for me, the music of Soundgarden and Chris Cornell has been helping me a lot. Chris was an amazing singer/songwriter, and he understood what it is to be depressed. He was definitely a poet and I can relate to most of his lyrics. I find his wonderful heartfelt voice so calming. 

4. When the weather is cold, I love it. I feel calmer because I'm not hot and sticky and there's not much noise out!

Athena

1. I am looking forward to watching more bird TV this month and more chicken snacks.
2. I am in need of some exercise (says Mum).
3. My mum's lap is my go-to when I want to warm up. I get lots more attention and love too. 
4. When the weather is too hot, I don't like it. Just like Mum!

1. I was pleased to hear that there will be a new Soundgarden album out at last. After the tragic death of frontman Chris Cornell in 2017 I wasn't expecting to hear any new material from the band, but after some legal issues they can now go ahead and release those tracks recorded prior to Chris's passing. 
2. There should be a World Sensitive Person Appreciation Day. Oh, but apparently, after just googling  there is! It's on 6th October. You can find out about World HSP/Highly Sensitive Person Day here. 
3. I have a lot of confidence in my ability to see through people. That is I can read people quite well. I don't know if I'm just relying on my gut instinct or simply that I'm good at reading body language but most of the times I've been right. Of course this is not a brag because I've been wrong too. Like when I've been blinded by "love". 
4. Being calm is easier said than done.

Athena

1. I was pleased to hear that Mum is back on her anti-depressants. She has been so very depressed and anxious lately and I was worried about her. The last couple of years have been crap so I'm not surprised she's been more down than usual. Mum finds being human very hard 💚
2. There should be a Brown Tabbby Appreciation Day. 
3. I have a lot of confidence in my ability to make Mum give me more food. She can never say no to me.
4. Catching birdies is easier said than done.

Cosy Morning Nap #SundaySelfie

 It's a rainy day again so I think an extra few hours in bed is much needed. If only Mum didn't have to get up (apart from feeding me) as I need her legs to snuggle on and keep warm!

1. I would like a car of my own.

2. On Black Friday, I spent it like any other day. At home with Athena. I don't do crazy shopping crowds. 

3. For me, the holiday season begins never. Don't like Christmas, especially this year as life will never be the same after losing my brother.

4. If I won a large sum of money a new home in the country would be the first thing I bought. Then I would give the rest to animal charities or open a cat sanctuary/shelter.

Athena

1. I would like a double-sized bed of my own. I love sharing with Mum but sometimes I enjoy having the bed all to myself.

2. On Black Friday, I slept most of the day.

3. For me, the holiday season begins when Mum feels like it, which is never. But being a pampered cat goddess like myself, every day is a holiday.

4. If I won a large sum of money, a double-sized bed for myself would be the first thing I bought. Then I would give the rest to Mum to buy me expensive treats and to run her own cat shelter. But I'm a cat, so I guess Mum would be the one who gets to spend it all however she likes. I know she will do my bidding though.
