So, in honour of this special day (Mum is a fan of the older Star Wars films - the original trilogy) let's celebrate with the Star Wars theme by John Williams. Mum has also picked a few other fave tracks from the soundtrack. She had the soundtrack album as a kid. And has it somewhere downloaded now.

Our good friends Binky and Granny are co-hosts of Mewsic Moves Me this April and we're loving their themes. This week it's songs with Angel in the title. That's an easy one as there are so many to choose from.
Here's some that Mum has chosen. She's chosen only three as she's late with this post! We've gone with 3 that we think most of you will not have heard before.
DURAN DURAN - Like An Angel
One of Mum's favourite Duran Duran songs. Yeah, she was a Duranie back in the day she tells me. The first band she ever saw live in concert - and that was in the last century, in 1983, at Wembley Arena.
NIGHTWISH - Angels Fall First
This beautiful track is from Nightwish's first album Angels Fall First (1997). Tarja Turunen was the original singer from 1996 until 2005.
WITHIN TEMPTATION - Angels
A beautiful song from this Dutch symphonic metal band.

As it's Walk in the Park Day today, our theme is Walking and/or Walking in the Park songs.
Note: The theme was decided some weeks in advance. Who would have thought most of us would be in lockdown due to that evil virus thingy back then?
Even if you can't get out to the park today due to lockdown and social distancing, you can still sit back and listen to some great walking songs from the safety of your own home.

Well, of course, we're gonna pick this one! Cats rule and this is a super cool song. Mum tells me it's from the early 80s.
SAM BROWN - Walking Back to Me
One of Mum's favourite female singers.
THE POLICE - Walking on the Moon
Walking on the moon sounds fun, doesn't it? Cool song from a very long time ago!
NIGHTWISH - Walking In The Air
Tarja Turunen was the original lead vocalist of Nightwish and she sang on their cover version of this song which was written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film of Raymond Briggs' children's book The Snowman.
The one below is from a live performance in 2000 at Tampere, Finland.
THE SMALL FACES - Itchycoo Park
This is so catchy and Mum has always liked it. She is really into that 60s music scene and most of her favourite songs are from that era. This is from 1967 - a very long time ago and Mum was only a baby!

Is this too gloomy to start with? Well, Mum loves Black Sabbath and here is one of their best! It's quite groovy as well as rocky :)

Today's Mewsic Monday doesn't have a theme and you can post what you want but we have decided to go with an alphabet theme for our own choices.
Today for us it's the letter A. Mum has picked these fab tunes from her past (mostly from her youthful 80s days).
ABBA -The Eagle
From 1978. This is one of Mum's fave ABBA songs and she was a big fan in the 70s and early 80s.
ADAM AND THE ANTS - Kings of the Wild Frontier
From 1980, the time of the British New Romantic movement. Mum says it was great to be a teenager then because music was so exciting and fresh. She was too young to go the New Romantic clubs though.
A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS - I Ran
From 1982. More strange hair and outfits, but Mum says it was fun!
A-HA - The Sun Always Shines on TV
From 1986. Like ABBA, A-HA are a band from Scandinavia, but from Norway, not Sweden.
ABC - The Look of Love
1982. This British band were very popular during the early 80s.
THE ANIMALS - House of the Rising Sun
This is from 1964. before Mum was born but she says it's a classic.
AUDIOSLAVE - Original Fire
Audioslave consisted of Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and Rage Against The Machine members

AURI - The Space Between
More recent times now (2017) This is the side project of Nightwish keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, his wife Johanna Kurkela and Nightwish guitarist and pipe player Troy Donockley.
ALICE IN CHAINS - Down In A Hole
Such a moving song. Reminds Mum so much of the 90s. Not good times she says - struggling even that far back with her mental health - but the music was amazing and so deep and raw.

Fun fact: My mum's birth name is Maria but she's never felt at home with it. It just doesn't resonate with her, and Marie does. Even at school people called her Marie and not Maria, so it stuck. It's the same name anyway - Marie is the French form of Maria and Mary.

We weren't online yesterday because there was something up with Mum's computer and she just couldn't connect it to the Internet.
She took all day trying to fix it (I reminded her to nap in between). It looks like she's finally got it back up and running so here we are, just in time for Mewsic Moves Me Monday.
There's no theme for today's Mewsic Monday so Mum went with this:
"Noise" is the new single from Nightwish (Mum's fave band). The song and the video have a very important and powerful message and it's one of the best music videos Mum has ever seen in her opinion.
The song is a critique of modern society and how we've become brainwashed by social media (I know, we are all guilty of this) and how self-obsessed many humans have become. Everyone is staring down into their phones or taking selfies, ignoring what is really important.
Mum has had enough of social media. Facebook gets on her nerves and so she's rarely on it (only to check out our page). The only community that she loves is the pet and animal community and we love all the friends here on the pet blogosphere. You guys are all special to us 💚💜
She also doesn't go on Twitter as much and she's mostly there because she follows many animal rights causes and rescue charities.
We still like Instagram because we love seeing beautiful animal photos (especially cats!).
