It was a very warm day yesterday and Mum was complaining because she wants Autumn to feel like autumn! As you all know by now she is not a summery person and feels more at ease in fall and winter clothing. Lots of layers to feel safe and comfy in and boots, not sandals! And she's bought a new coat and wants to wear it

She complains that she never knows what to wear and I'm so glad I'm not human, I can tell you! I wear the same outfit every day, come rain or shine!😻

1. I have a sieve for a brain - I am getting very forgetful these days.

3. I’m surprised that it's so warm right now in England. Last night was really mild for October and I woke up sweating.
4. To make a long story short (or to cut), I lost my mind - I have this song in my head, from my teenage years and one of my fave bands from that era - Spandau Ballet. Could be the story of my life really.

Sunday Selfie, Father's Day and a #FreeBook

In my selfie for today, I am perched up high on my scratching post awaiting more adoration from my public (and Mum).

Speaking of Mum, her book Frozen in Time is FREE on Kindle again. She figured all the hard work of writing her books, especially this historical vampire trilogy did not pay off and she did not become the successful author she had hoped to be. With that idea, she told me the other night that she might as well give it away since no-one is willing to pay for it. Self-published in September 2011, the novel (and trilogy) took her years to write, plus years and years of research. It was a story inspired by two of her favourite movies Interview with the Vampire and Bram Stoker's Dracula (which starred the excellent actor Gary Oldman) and of course the Hammer films starring Christopher Lee which Mum loved to stay up late and watch as a young girl. Her dad though actually had a phobia of watching any of the Dracula films. Funnily enough, some people thought he had a passing resemblance to Lee.😻

Today is Father's Day of course. Mum is thinking of her late dad, who passed away in 2010 before he got the chance to read any of Mum's books or to meet me. Mum misses him, even though their relationship wasn't all that great. They sort of made up when he got ill though. From the photo below, you can tell she adored her daddy as a young girl.

Throwback Thursday and Frozen In TIme: Free Promo

My mum is a writer as you know and though she writes about cats she has also written about other creatures with fangs called vampires. (She is quite obsessed with fangs and is always commenting on my ones).

Now, the point of this post is to tell you about the special free Promo she has over on Amazon Kindle. It's to celebrate two years as a self-published author. Yes, time goes so quick, doesn't it? I remember Mum working hard at revising this book and preparing it for publication and me being a naughty little kitten needing attention all the time. But Mum was great and let me sit on her lap while she worked.

It's set in Ancient Greece at the time of Alexander the Great. It's an epic adventure about an ancient Greek tutor and philosopher who loses his wife in childbirth and is so traumatised by this that he only wishes for death and so becomes a soldier in Alexander's army (it turns out that Alexander is his half-brother). He then meets an evil blood-sucking sea monster named Scylla who is disguised as his dead wife who seduces him and turns him into a vampire....

I can't give away any more as that would be spoiling it.

So, if you think this book might be your cup of tea, then please download it and help my mum fulfill her dream of being a successful author. She is the mother of a goddess after all and has spent years researching for this trilogy (and writing it). On top of that, it's a bit frustrating being the daughter of a struggling artist!
