Happy Caturday!

Well, after it cooled down a bit, and at last we got some rain (and thunder!) the heatwave has returned and we are all getting overcooked again. Mum says it's hardly ever this hot in England so there is something very wrong. The hottest summer she remembers is when she was a kid back in 1976. Of course, we do get some hot days here, but nothing like this nasty heatwave from Hades that goes on for weeks and weeks.

If you're wondering what effect Mum used this week it's the same as last week, the watercolour effect in Photoshop Elements.

Caturday Art: Shattered in the Yellow Submarine

Happy Caturday!

Do you like my confusing title? 

At least it grabs attention I hope 😻

In this week's Caturday Art it's back to the fabulous LunaPic again. Mum had this photo of me closing my eyes against the sunlight and thought it made me look as if I was falling asleep.

So it was onto LunaPic to find a suitable effect and found Shattered (in informal British English when someone says they're shattered it means exhausted). As I looked tired and sleepy, she decided it was purrfect. 

Why Yellow Submarine?

Because the next effect Mum used was Submarine. No idea why, and it's not even yellow as you can see.

But Mum, being a Beatles fan, immediately started singing "Yellow Submarine", hence the title of this blog post! 

Let's hear that song now, shall we? 

Just to let you know, it's way before my time, but Mum has fond memories of hearing this song as a kid and swaying to it whenever it came on the radio. She must have been about 2 or 3. Long time ago, Mum!

A few words from Mum as to why we are no longer using inLinkz for our blog hop.

I now have to pay a $2.99 subscription fee per month for using the service and as I'm yet to be earning enough money from blogging I simply can't afford to pay. 

Instead, I am trying Simply Linked. Unfortunately, this means no thumbnail links, but does that really matter? Not everyone adds the widget/code to their blog anyway. I really hope this move doesn't put off all our regular hoppers as we love this hop and getting to see all your amazing work! Plus, you're all dear friends now and we love how each week we get to meet new friends and discover some new amazing blogs to follow along the way.

I've been blogging for many years, beginning with a writing blog in 2005, and I have to say I never felt I really belonged. 

The pet blogging community has been different though. You've all been very welcoming from the start and it's this that's kept this blog going. I was unsure of starting the Caturday Art hop at first. In fact, I'm amazed at how well it's taken off. Yes, it's been quite a small build up. But I can now see how much you all enjoy it and it's wonderful seeing you all being so creative. I look forward to seeing your photos and what you come up with each week. It's such a fun way to interact with you all and I never want this hop to end.

What I will do though is pin your entries to the Caturday Art Pinterest board.

So, I hope you continue to join us each week!

Caturday Art: Not Long Till Halloween!

HAPPY CATURDAY! 

It's been a scorcher of a week in London with temperatures reaching as high as 33 degrees, which doesn't please Mum at all because she longs for autumn, and frankly we don't have autumn anymore.  But I'm not here to moan about the crazy weather. Instead I want to remind you that Halloween is not too far away. Hard to believe, but it's coming so amazingly fast and we need to start thinking about it now, even though some of you may be reading this on the beach!

First, we added the artistic filter, "Cutout", which we think looks quite good (turned out better than we expected). Mum then went online and added a frame from PicMonkey

Welcome to Caturday Art! 

This is the fun blog hop for creative pets. Yes, that's right, any pet can join - not just cats! That's because my mum, being a huge animal lover, says it isn't fair to the other animals if they want to join in too.

Oh well...
