Wait Till I'm Ready, Mum! #sundayselfie

My mum never has any patience. Here I am grooming myself in preperation for my Sunday Selfie when she just came along ans snapped this shot before I was ready. She says even though it's not a proper selfie, but an action shot, it's purrfect for today's Sunday post. Honestly, Mum, could you not wait a bit?

I do admit that it's a good shot, though 😻

1. Sometimes I like writing and sometimes I don’t. I used to love it, and it was once a great passion. 

2. If I had a nickel for every time someone annoyed me , I would be rich. 

3. Summer is already nearly over, but I’m not complaining. I prefer autumn and winter. The only thing with that though is that now I'm getting older, and so are my loved ones, these months mean another year drawing to a close and that time is no longer a friend. 

4. I haven’t yet decided on a grave memorial for my brother. It's only nearly a year since his burial so I still have time to decide. We have to wait a year so that the earth settles. 

Athena

1. Sometimes I like to play and sometimes I don’t. Usually when I'm in a fun mood Mum is ready for bed. I make her get up at 1am to play. I insist!

2. If I had a nickel for every time I have to make Mum give me more food, I would be rich. 

3. Summer is already nearly over, but I’m not complaining. Actually, that's not true as the warm months are really good - but not when it's very hot! 

4. I haven’t yet decided if I want to go outside in the catio this morning. It's too early for me.

Nodding Off Sunday Selfie

Time for my easy Sunday nap. Just a quick wash before I settle down. Mum put me off while she was trying to snap my selfie for me.

1. Athena feeling at home as soon as I adopted her was a pleasant surprise, I was expecting her to hide away for days but she just darted out of the carrier as soon as I opened it and tucked into her food. And then, with her little belly full she jumped onto my lap and fell asleep. 

2. Getting scratched by her the first time was a not so pleasant surprise. 

3. I can’t help but worry when I have to go out and leave Athena at home alone. I'm glad I can work from home.

4. I wish people would stop asking me to talk about my problems. I'm tired of talking.  It doesn't help.

ATHENA

1. Catching the best mum was a pleasant surprise, No, not really. I knew she was the right one from when I first met her.

2. That time she left me a cat hotel was a not so pleasant surprise. 

3. I can’t help but want to reach for Mum's legs when I'm feeling playful. I like to bite too. I'm very gentle though. 

4. I wish people would stop asking me to do as they say. I'm a cat. It's you who should obey me!

1. I am running low on hope. So tired of life and all its problems and being a sensitive soul with anxiety and depression. All I have now is fear for the future because age brings even more problems.
2. I never run out of cat food and chocolate. 
3. I work best when I'm alone and can work at my own pace.
4. Being the age that I am now caught me by surprise. How can I be 56 this July?

1. I am running low on food. Mum, get off that computer and fill my dish!
2. I never run out of love for Mum.
3. I work best when I have a good nap.
4. Meeting Mum and getting adopted caught me by surprise. I thought I'd never find a forever home. I was one desperate little kitten at the shelter before Mum walked in!

1. In May, I may get to sort the garden out before the weather gets hot because the heat makes me ill.

2. Ten years ago, I was full of hope for the future. Now I am just terrified and my anxiety levels are the highest they've ever been.

3. I hope for a future in which there are no wars and animals are equal to humans. They are for me but most don't agree. 

4. I would probably last just a few hours in solitary confinement. I like my own company but I would go insane with dark thoughts.

ATHENA 

1. In May, I may get a new toy and extra treats for my birthday. 

2. Ten years ago, I was almost a year old. 

3. I hope for a future in which there are no wars and humans stop being so selfish, shallow and greedy. 

4. I would probably last no days in solitary confinement. I would want my mum with me always.

HAPPY CATURDAY!

We are keeping it simple for this week's Caturday Art, with just a touch of elegance. Mum turned me black and white (as she does each week for Black and White Sunday). I love how the sunpuddles from the window highlight my furs. 

I have just heard from my friend Cody and his mum Caren that today is National Tabby Day (for kitties in the US). Well, that's not on, is it? How about us tabbies in the UK? And all the other wonderful tabbies all over the world? We tabbies should stand proud and make this International Tabby Day!
