Mum seems obsessed with taking shots of me when I'm washing my furs. She says it's soothing to watch cats cleaning themselves. Plus, she likes photos that aren't "posed" as it displays variety on our blog. The art today is once again created with BeFunky.

Caturday Art: My Pet Portrait

Happy Caturday!

So, do you like my new pet portrait?

It's by this fab artist called Louisa Houchen. Mum came across her work whilst browsing the web for animal artists and instantly fell in love with Louisa's beautiful pet art.

Mum wanted an illustration of me to use as my branding logo and header and she knew she wanted something unique and original. And as you can see from my portrait, she found it.

Louisa says her art is "a modern approach to pet portraiture" and believes she has a talent for capturing pets' personalities in her own quirky style. In fact, it's this uniqueness that caught my mum's eye. 

And it's not just cats and dogs Louisa will draw. She also draws horses, pet snakes and lizards, and even stick insects! Just email a photo of your pet and she will get to work on your illustration right away. You can then choose to order beautiful bespoke products featuring your pet's portrait: super cool merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, bags, laptop covers, mobile phone cases and so much more. 

And what's more, your illustration is free until the 22nd October 2016. You only pay for your chosen product.

As you can see, Mum chose the A4 print with the black background. Doesn't it look striking?

Today's Caturday Art photo was created using Photoshop Elements 11.

First, we added the artistic filter, "Cutout", which we think looks quite good (turned out better than we expected). Mum then went online and added a frame from PicMonkey

Happy Summer Solstice!

I feel that this is a very summery photo art and just perfect for the Summer Solstice!

Mum created it in PicMonkey again as she finds it so easy to use and had to do it at the last minute. She's trying to learn how to use Photoshop Elements 11 but the poor thing is struggling a bit. Her brain is getting a bit old and she is finding it hard to remember things. Shame because the rest of her looks quite young.

Anyway, this was created by first using the Orton effect in PicMonkey, and then the Cross Process effect. It was that easy!

This is the fun blog hop for creative pets. Yes, that's right, any pet can join - not just cats! That's because my mum, being a huge animal lover, says it isn't fair to the other animals if they want to join in too.

Oh well...

As you can see, there is lots of pink this week. I think Mum just wanted to surround me with an aura of loving pink light because she loves me so much!
