Storytime With Athena and Marie: A Forever Home For Athena, Chapter 9

A Forever Home For Athena was published in 2013. The book is based on Athena's real-life story, but for creative purposes the chapters prior to when her mum Marie adopted her from Wood Green, The Animals Charity are fiction. Athena was indeed abandoned in someone's garden in North London though, and she shared a pen with a black kitten called Lily at the shelter. At the time of publication, we donated a percentage of the royalties to pet rescue charities. But for some years now ALL royalties will be donated.

After the filming of Storytime Chapter 9, Mum took the opportunity to snap some selfies of us together. I was still so sleepy that I just went along with it.

Mum came out blurry in this photo as you can see

So she experimented with some artsy effects to improve it a little.

I'm loving this blue art that Mum created this week.

120I like the way that even though it's blue it is a summery blue. It reminds me of clear blue and turquoise oceans and summer night skies. Mum used one of the Impressionist filters from the BeFunky paid version (not affiliated).

Feline Friday, Friendly Fill-Ins and Foto Fail

Here I am enjoying my cat PetFusion scratcher and lounger  Mum bought it for me back in 2016 and it's one of my fave things. We know it's very popular with lots of kitties!

Mum has it by her bed which is great because I can lounge around on it before jumping up onto the bed when it's time to nap or sleep. I sleep with Mum at night and during afternoon naptime. But if it's hot I prefer resting and lounging on my lounger! I also pose on it a lot!

Here's an arty version because Mum was bored. It's the Oil Painting DLX artsy filter from BeFunky.

It would look great for tomorrow's Caturday Art but Mum has another masterpiece planned for that,

2. My Mum is the best.
3. My current to-do list includes going out into the catio for some fresh air and sunshine, eating, getting a groom and some Reiki from Mum and then naptime (hopefully with Mum).
4. I finally got Mum to delete TikTok. All this social media crap is making her ill. Real life overwhelms her so why should she let the online world do that too? She is OK with blogging, Instagram, and Twitter, but the rest she can't be bothered with and shouldn't need to even bother! The world has too much Noise!

I hope you like my selfie. I took it during naptime the other day when it was hot. 

Feels cooler again today. The temperature is up and down here in England. One day we're having a heatwave and the next it's cooled down considerably that snuggles against Mum in bed are essential. Weird weather. Weird times.

1. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the recording studio when Nightwish (my fave band as you know) is recording/rehearsing.
2. I am missing the British soaps being on every night. Yeah, it's just a habit, and sometimes the storylines are ridiculous, but it's just another of my many addictions :) I need my daily/almost daily fix of EastEnders, Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale.
3. I could use more good luck in my life.
4. I could do without covidiots and idiots in general, and also egotistical selfish twats in my life.

ATHENA
1. I would love to be a fly on the wall in NOWHERE - but I'd hate to be the fly on the wall right now. The one I'm looking on the living room wall right now! Coming for you, Fly! 😺🐈😻
2. I am missing snuggling with Mum on the bed because it's too hot and I can only stretch out on the floor or my lounger to keep myself cool.
3. I could use more exercise in my life (so Mum keeps saying).
4. I could do without other cats in my garden. Luckily, there aren't that many here like at our old place. I hear lots of doggies barking though, and they always walk past our house to go for walkies in the woods nearby with their owners.
