St Patrick's Day Celtic Vibes #MewsicMovesMe

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Welcome to our St Pawtrick's Day party!

St Patrick's Day Celtic Vibes

Mum's really been looking forward to this week's Mewsic Moves Me because the theme is St Patrick's Day and songs about Ireland, Irish songs, Irish bands/singers and Celtic music.

Mum absolutely loves Celtic music, but as far as we know, she has no Celtic blood. She's actually had an ancestor DNA test done and her DNA is Mediterranean as expected (Greek, Italian mostly).

I told her that she probably has Celtic soul DNA. In other words, she has had Celtic past lives.

Or maybe, she just has great taste in music! I certainly enjoyed listening to these tracks and I loved seeing Mum enjoy them too.

So, here, without further ado, our Celtic-themed songs for today 😻

ENJOY!

CLANNAD - Robin The Hooded Man

Maybe you remember Robin of Sherwood TV series about Robin Hood from the 1980s? Mum certainly does. It's one of her all-time fave shows. The soundtrack by Irish band Clannad is ace.

Here's the title track Robin the Hooded Man.

RIVERDANCE

This is from the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. Mum didn't get to see Riverdance live but she did see Lord of the Dance a couple of years later and she says it was amazing!

LORD OF THE DANCE

EPIC CELTIC MUSIC MIX

This sounds great. Mum found it on YouTube.

CELTIC WOMAN - Níl Sé'n Lá

CLANNAD - Ancient Forest

Another track from the Robin of Sherwood soundtrack.

NIGHTWISH - Harvest

Nightwish is from Finland but they do have a lot of Celtic influences in their music. Here's the new single - Harvest which sounds so Celtic to us. The instrumental break in the middle is amazing.
Mum got up to jig around the room. That was MOL, I can tell you 😻

THE MUSIC OF IRELAND - Jigs and Reels

Mum found this and thought it would be great to share to get into the Irish spirit.

Romantic Celtic Music - Forest Nymphs | Beautiful, Enchanted, Magical

This is another video Mum just found while searching on YouTube for Celtic music. It's so magical and purrfect for chilling and relaxing.

CLANNAD - Ancient Forest unfortunately doesn't want to play, but WOW Girlfriend you really outdid yourself this time. I love all the dancing. I never got to see them either when they were in town. They were truly awesome and so were your other songs . Great job.

A great choice of music! I love Celtic music and feel an affinity to it. My maternal grandmother was Irish and used to tell me stories of times in Ireland when I was a child.
Ivor and I took a road trip around the Republic in 2017 and I felt so at home there as if I belonged. I hope with all my heart that we are able to do it again.

Marie & Athena,

Excellent compilation of Irish mewsic this morning! The Romantic Celtic Mewsic video is especially nice. :) The Riverdancers are amazing so purrfect in step and time. I think this form of dancing is cool and I love seeing their videos featured for St. Patrick's Day. I think I'd like to see them purrform someday. Thanks for sharing the dance floor. You're doing a fab job as honorary co-hostess this month, darlin'! Be safe and well. xx

I love pictures of Bear with a green background - and you are similar, Athena - because you both have gorgeous green eyes and some brownish tint to your tabby furs!

This was amazing; this resident of the United States learned a lot. Eurovision is hardly known here, I suspect, and I had no idea that Riverdance started as an interval act (I even had to look up what interval acts are, imagine that.) Watched the dance routines, enjoyed the songs by Celtic Woman and Nightwish. I've heard several Nightwish songs now and this one was my favorite so far.
