#CharityTuesday Adopt a Cat and World Spay Day

ADOPT A CAT

MIA

Mia is a young-looking 16-year-old beauty who loves to bask in sun on the windowsill. She also likes to be groomed and as a very special treat, Mia likes a spot of cheese!

Unfortunately, her previous owner could no longer keep her, so she is looking for new owners to help her enjoy her retirement. Sweet Mia is waiting for a forever human at the London centre (where I waited for my forever home). Click on her profile to find out more about her.

Today is also World Spay Day

I am of course spayed. It happened to me when I was 5 months old and it was at Wood Green, The Animals Charity! As I was adopted from this pawsome charity when I was 10 weeks old Mum had to take me back there to get done when I was an older kitten.

I wasn't happy about it at the time. I thought Mum had taken me back there because she'd had enough of me. But I was soon sedated and then when I awoke, feeling groggy from the anesthetic I could hear her voice and when I looked up I was so very happy to see her. She'd come back to take me home. My forever home!

Now, in hindsight, and as a wise adult cat, I am really glad I got spayed because let's face it, who really wants to give birth? It's so painful and having babies all the time is not ideal. There are far too many hungry sad kittens around as it is. So many that aren't as lucky as me and other adopted kitties. Many of them living as strays and ferals, struggling to survive. It isn't fair but unfortunately, that's life.

I also want to be the only baby in the house as it means all the attention is on me! And I don't want Mum getting all maternal over little bundles of squealing fursballs.

You can read about my spay day in my book (some of this book is part fantasy at the beginning and then my story is told in reality as it happened after the day I got adopted).

In support of World Spay Day, Wood Green is offering free neuter vouchers.

Note: Voucher applications are open from Tuesday 27th February 2018 up to and including Tuesday 13th March 2018, or until funds run out. Max 2 vouchers per household. Vouchers will be valid for 4 weeks from issue date.

As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescues find their forever home, so each week on Charity Tuesday I share adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued) and some other charities dear to our hearts. Mum and I are so grateful to Wood Green because without them we would never have found each other! Please note however that this post does contain some affiliate links. This means if you click on the Amazon links to purchase any of the items featured, I will receive a small affiliate commission. We are not affiliated with any charity mentioned in this post.
