NORTHERN KINGS - View To A Kill

There is a Nightwish connection here. Bass player and singer Marco Hietala from Nightwish was a member of this "supergroup" covers band along with other well-known Finnish musicians: Jarkko Ahola from Teräsbetoni, ex-Dreamtale, Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica and Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto from Charon and Harmaja.

One of Mum's fave 80s bands is Duran Duran and this is a cover of their James Bond theme song, A View To A Kill.

Today, 20th July is National Moon Day - in honour of the day when man first walked on the moon in 1969. 

And guess what,  it's also the theme for this week's Mewsic Moves Me!

So, let's kick-start the day with this energetic number!

NIGHTWISH - Moondance 

The above is a very early Nightwish song but the following track, Shoemaker, is from their latest album Human Nature. It's about Eugene Shoemaker, an American geologist and one of the founders of the field of planetary science. After his death, some of his ashes were carried to the moon with the Lunar Prospector mission.
