Caturday Art Fireworks Season

Happy Caturday!

Yes, it's that time of the year again here in the UK. Fireworks Night (though these days it's more like Fireworks Season).

I'm not really that scared of fireworks but they were very loud and so very close last year. Mum and I hate noise and disruption and Mum gets angry for the poor animals that get frightened. It's sad for some animals who are not someone's pet and not tucked up inside safe and sound and warm. Think of all the other poor animals and wildlife out there while all this is going on. It's like a warzone!

Have fireworks displays by all means - but only public displays where people gather in one place as a community for just the one night - 5th November - like it has always been traditionally.

Some idiots set off fireworks unnecessarily and are a nuisance. You could be sleeping and all of a sudden one goes off in your street in the middle of the night! They frighten not only animals but some young children and there are some people that have phobias. They also injure thousands of people and animals every year. Fireworks going off unexpectedly are no fun for people with anxiety either!

We are all for banning the sale of fireworks to the public as they are being sold to young kids too which is just not right! We hope that they are banned.

We are going to try to feature a homeless cat in each of our posts from now on. We support many animal charities, international as well as in the UK, but obviously, we can't afford to donate money to each one but by sharing we are doing something that's very dear to our hearts ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ

Hopefully, it helps a pet find a forever home. It's so sad that we can't help them all.

Sweet Cheese is at Cyprus Pride House and needs a forever home!

We so agree on the fireworks, they are legal here and go off for any and all holidays until the wee hours of the morning, night after night. Your art is darn pretty though!

What are the fireworks celebrating?

Last year on FB I read about noiseless fireworks. I was hoping they'd replace the noisy ones. I don't get scared cos we're on the 4th floor so the noise dissipates before it gets up here. Love your art but the Starry Night one is my fave.

Nice art, Athena! I am totally with you on the fireworks - and they are dangerous here where we live because it is so dry.

PAM - The fireworks are celebrating Guy Fawkes Night, an annual commemoration observed on 5 November in the UK. It's the anniversary of an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament by Guy Fawkes on 5 November 1605. He wanted to blow up King James I and his government because England was a Protestant country and Guy Fawkes and the other plotters were Catholic and wanted a Catholic ruler on the throne. Fawkes and the others were arrested, tortured and executed.

Beautiful artwork!
I agree with you about fireworks. We live down a country lane so don't get any close by, but hear them from an estate four fields from us. We got home from our holiday on Thursday and have heard them every night since then.

Loveyour artwork, sweet Athena and we love that little Sweet Cheese and the photobomber too๐Ÿ˜ธ Good Luck Pawkisses to find a furrever home soon๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

Fireworks are terrible. We still hope there comes a law that forbids it, but the government is only talking and talking to ban it...sigh...Poor animals and poor birdies who are flying to high in the sky to avoid it, because they're so scared...breaks our heart๐Ÿ˜ฟ

Pawkisses for a Happy Caturday to the both of you๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฝ๐Ÿ’ž

People really go overboard with the fireworks. What's the big deal about them, anyways? Love your art.

Fireworks should be just one night. There are people with PTSD who suffer from the sound, and animals panic and run away. Also these things pollute the air.

Couldn't agree more about the fireworks, they are dreadful things! Our neighbour used to let his kids set them off in their front garden - absolutely maddening and so dangerous to say the least.

Anyhoo your art is exquisite today Athena, thanks for hosting and have a beautiful day! XOX

Fireworks are much too warlike; time to only use the silent ones!
