Whiskers Wednesday and Remembering Granddad

tabby cat

I'm giving extra purrs, cuddles, and snuggles to Mum today as she remembers her dad who passed exactly 10 years ago.

I never knew him as I wasn't born when he was alive. Mum was deeply depressed after he died and was still grieving when she adopted me months later in July 2011. I was about 10 and a half weeks old by then. She rescued me and I rescued her right back. You can read about it in Mum's memoir, The Cat Years: How My Cat Soulmates Saved Me.

Wordless Wednesday

Mum is sad today because she is thinking about her dad, who passed away exactly five years ago. I never knew him in this life as I was yet to be born but he sounds like a cool guy.

Mum says he was quite an animal lover. Well, he really loved horses and he was always very kind and loving towards Mum's other cats.

Mum believes that he sent me to her because she was very sad and depressed after he passed away.

So today I am going to be extra busy giving Mum extra loving cuddles and purrs to soothe her hurting soul.

Here I am on her lap purring my magic healing on her...

Granddaddy

It's a sad day today as we remember my mummy's dad - granddad - who passed away two years ago today at the age of 69.

I never got to meet him, of course, but when I came into Muumy's life the year after he passed she was still grieving. I like to think I've helped her feel happier, and indeed she always tells me I have. I hate to see her sad, but I understand that today she won't feel like doing much as she remembers her dad.

I know that he watches over her and he is so glad I am here looking after her.

RIP Grandad, love Athena and your daughter Marie xx
