National Tabby Day and Adopt A Shelter Pet Day #caturdayart

 Happy Caturday😻

tabby cat

The art today was created using BeFunky. Mum forgot which effects she played with but it was probably a mix of Underpainting and either a light touch of Cartoonizer DLX or a light touch of Oilpanting DLX.

Here is the jigsaw

Friday 30 April is National Tabby Day, and since we post our Caturday Art blog on Friday night (here in the UK), and no longer do a Feline Friday post, we just had to celebrate this special day somehow - so here we are doing just that!

April 30th is also National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day and as a rescue kitty myself, I love advocating for pet adoption (and Mum does too). There are so many lonely and sad homeless pets all over the world and they deserve a loving forever home.

So please, if you are wanting a pet, please try to adopt don't buy.

Most of you will know my rescue story but here is the short version.

I was born in May 2011 (my birthday is next week) and was found abandoned in someone's garden as a tiny kitten. The wonderful Wood Green, The Animals Charity took me in and looked after me until I was ready to find my forever home. It wasn't long until my Mum Marie came along after seeing me on the charity website. We met - touched finger to paw through the mesh - and it was instant love. I wanted her to be my mummy!  On July 21, when I was just over 10 weeks old, I went home with my new mum and the rest is history!

You can read my rescue story here. The early part of the book is a fictionalized account of what happened to me before Mum came into my life.

Caturday Art is a chance for all pets and their humans to get creative
 with their photos.

And if you're an artist feel free to share your animal art as well. We'd love to see it! But the focus of Caturday Art Blog Hop is to get artsy with your pet photos by adding filters (there are many free photo editors and apps available, as we're sure you all know.) Have fun!

Whiskers Wednesday, National Tabby Day, and Adopt a Shelter Pet Day

Happy Wednesday!

We hope you are doing fine and keeping safe πŸ’š

We are celebrating National Tabby Day and Adopt a Shelter Pet Day today instead of tomorrow because we don't normally post on Thursdays.

Being a tabby, there's no way I could miss celebrating my special day now, could I? And I'm also a rescue cat so I'm very happy to celebrate this special day for rescue animals. I am so grateful to have been adopted from Wood Green, The Animals Charity in London. I love giving them a shout out on my blog as they are an amazing charity and one that Mum and I continue to support.

As Wood Green The Animal Charity is not rehoming any animals at the moment due to the  Coronavirus and lockdown, we are unable to share a cat looking for a forever home from their site.

However, here are 3 Greek cats, who are at  Nine Lives Greece and we believe are available for rehoming, if not now, then soon. Please contact the charity for more information if you're interested.

Charlie, Ben, and Princess are 3 remaining cats that haven't found homes yet from the 20 that were rescued from a hoarder.

Happy Tabby Cat Day and Adopt a Shelter Pet Day #CharityTuesday

Happy National Tabby Cat Day!

Mum only just found out it's National Tabby Cat Day so she is quickly inserting a photo of me to show you how beautiful tabbies are 😻😽

We are also featuring again the handsome tabby Keano who is still waiting for a forever home at Wood Green The Animal Charity. We posted about him previously. It's such a bad shame he is taking longer to rehome than others. We're sure he is being well looked after by the team at Wood Green but it can't be much fun seeing other kitties come and go and wondering when it'll be your turn to find a forever family to love you and take care of you.
Keano (photo: Wood Green The Animals Charity)

"Keano is such a people cat and all he really wants in life is a home of his own. Keano is FIV+ which means he cannot live with other cats and really needs to be in a home where there are no visiting cats in his garden. Perhaps you are lucky enough to live in a home like this? He just needs a nice, safe garden and all the love and attention you can give him. Keano cuddles really are the best. He is a playful boy so will provide hours of entertainment with his antics."

Keano is currently in a foster home. To find out more about him you can contact the Godmanchester here.

Watch him in action on youtube here.

Ozzy is another kitty waiting for his forever home. No, he isn't a tabby, but he is still a handsome boy, a lovely tuxedo cat for Tuxie Tuesday.

Ozzy (photo: Wood Green The Animals Charity)

"Ozzy is a very sensitive little soul who is looking for a special home with adults only. Ozzy can be quite scared of the outside world, he doesn’t like loud noises and fast movements so will need very understanding owners that can give him the time and patience that he needs to feel safe. Once Ozzy has built a bond with you he is a very affectionate boy who loves to follow you around like a little shadow. He likes to be fussed and sit on your lap but also enjoys his own company and will happily take himself off for a nap. Ozzy would love a home where he can gradually begin exploring outside in the garden and burn off some of his energy whilst working on his confidence! He would also prefer to be the only animal in the home."

Ozzy is at the Heydon centre. Find out more about him here.

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescues find their forever home, so each week on Charity Tuesday I share adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued) and some other charities dear to our hearts. Mum and I are so grateful to Wood Green because without them we would never have found each other!
