This beautiful Tabby girl is Tiggy. At 18 years of age, the senior citizen has "stolen the hearts of everyone she’s met". She wants a new home where she can spend her time enjoying "long fusses and snoozing." This golden oldie would be better suited to a peaceful home without other animals or kids. Help the Animals at Christmas is a three-hour entertainment extravaganza that will be broadcast live on Channel 5 at 8pm on Friday, 21st December.
This is Channel 5’s and the UK’s first ever TV event that will help raise awareness and much-needed funds for animals who need treatment or help.

Before we go on to our regular Charity Tuesday feature, we would like to share this story about Animal Aid, a cat re-homing centre based in Liverpool, UK. The rescue shelter takes in hundreds of cats a year and has been doing so at the site for over 20 years. But recently, the charity workers were horrified to hear that the building they rented was to be auctioned off in just two days. The only way they could stop this from happening was by purchasing the site themselves. After paying 10% upfront, they now desperately need to find the rest (£20,000) by the end of next month or the building will be up for auction. We first heard about this story on Twitter and it deeply saddened us, so we've been sharing and tweeting, hoping to raise awareness and get this charity the help it deserves. Those poor kitties! Tinker is a rescue from Wood Green, The Animals Charity (where I came from). At 12 years-old poor Tinker found himself at Wood Green after his owner sadly passed away. Unfortunately the rescue shelter has very little information on Tinker for this very reason. Considering what happened to him, Tinker is a calm, affectionate boy who is very gentle. He just needs a home where he can enjoy a calm, quiet life with a warm bed, a nice garden and an owner who is happy to enjoy his company. Tinker is waiting for you at the Godmanchester centre.
