Melt Your Heart Monday

Happy Monday!

We hope your Monday is stress free but even if you have a lot of stress in your life, or suffer from depression like my mum, I'm sure your pet helps you enormously. We don't need any scientific facts to prove what animal lovers have known all along, do we?

Animals, especially those you choose to share your home with, are great relievers of stress and can help people with mental health issues like depression and anxiety cope better.

Here is a short clip of me helping Mum with her stress and anxiety issues the other day.

Watch on YouTube if you can't view it here.

How do your companion animals help improve your health?

  2. You do a great job of helping your mom. We know how much she appreciates that. We help our mom just by being close and snuggling and purring lots.

  3. Athena, you are such a healing presence for your mum! My cats help me with depression and anxiety too. In fact, I can say honestly that getting my first cat 16 years ago changed my life for the better. I will write more about that on my blog, but I understand that bond between cats and their humans and the positive effects of it.

  5. What a wonderful helper and comforter you are for your Mum, Athena. :)

Moosey was extraordinarily good at reading our emotional states and comforting us when needed. Gracie and Zoe are not quite as good, but they DO love us (and us them), and THAT is a great comfort and source of happiness.

    Hugs to you both!
